Assembling the 1,500T VersaCrane™ TC-24000 off site and moving it via SPMT saved this client 15 days of downtime and allowed the refinery unit to run at full capacity until unit shutdown. During the scheduled outage, Deep South was tasked to replace two coke drums, each weighed 452,800 lbs and were 19’-2” outside diameter and 96’-0” long and were comparable in size and weight to the old drums.

For more than 50 years, Deep South Crane & Rigging has been distinguishing itself throughout North America. Founder Camile Landry has an intense appreciation for cranes, and he has always been intrigued by projects that require a higher level of skill and expertise. In the 1980s, he saw a need for a new generation of cranes. He envisioned a high-capacity crane with a smaller footprint and a tighter tail swing. He wanted to see a crane that could be transported easier than other heavy lift cranes.

Our Deep South family is not defined by just those that physically come to work every day. It includes daughters, sons, nieces, nephews, wives, husbands, and grandchildren – all of which play an important part of why we come to work each day and stay safe.
To include these extensions of our “family,” Deep South is hosting an art contest for the children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews of Deep South employees who are ages 3 – 18.

Deep South Employees Honored with SC&RA, LWCC Safety 70 Awards

Deep South Crane & Rigging, LLC, is pleased to announce, for the third consecutive year, its acceptance of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association’s (SC&RA) Crane & Rigging Group Safety Award and its inclusion in the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC) Safest 70 award program. Ten Deep South crane operators were honored with SC&RA Crane Operator Safety Award, which is presented to crane operators who exhibit exemplary work achievements while accumulating 10,000 consecutive man hours and recording zero accidents and incidents.

Deep South recently released a new video highlighting a project solving many complex challenges, including coordinating international shipping from Spain to the client’s site, transloading the drums to a deck barge at the port, and barging them to the client’s site, constructing a new custom earthen ramp, and executing the roll off operation.
