Reconfigured for a Higher Load

During a planned outage, a petrochemical facility in Texas needed to replace a large tower head—measuring 54' L x 30' W x 30' H and weighing 280,000 pounds. Deep South Crane & Rigging selected a strategic setup location for its 2,500-ton VersaCrane TC-36000 to accommodate both the head lift and additional turnaround work. The lift was initially planned at 350,000 pounds, accounting for tray installation.

New VersaCrane TC-36000/S2 makes lifting debut - AC&T Feature

For more than 50 years, Deep South Crane & Rigging has been distinguishing itself throughout North America. Founder Camile Landry has an intense appreciation for cranes, and he has always been intrigued by projects that require a higher level of skill and expertise. In the 1980s, he saw a need for a new generation of cranes. He envisioned a high-capacity crane with a smaller footprint and a tighter tail swing. He wanted to see a crane that could be transported easier than other heavy lift cranes.

Deep South Employees Honored with SC&RA, LWCC Safety 70 Awards

Deep South Crane & Rigging, LLC, is pleased to announce, for the third consecutive year, its acceptance of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association’s (SC&RA) Crane & Rigging Group Safety Award and its inclusion in the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC) Safest 70 award program. Ten Deep South crane operators were honored with SC&RA Crane Operator Safety Award, which is presented to crane operators who exhibit exemplary work achievements while accumulating 10,000 consecutive man hours and recording zero accidents and incidents.
