A High Pressure Exchange

Assembling the 1,500T VersaCrane™ TC-24000 off site and moving it via SPMT saved this client 15 days of downtime and allowed the refinery unit to run at full capacity until unit shutdown. During the scheduled outage, Deep South was tasked to replace two coke drums, each weighed 452,800 lbs and were 19’-2” outside diameter and 96’-0” long and were comparable in size and weight to the old drums.

When dimensional restrictions along a route limit the transportation of oversized cargo, Deep South's 52-ton Scheuerle SPMT-SL (Split) Trailers can reduce the overall transport height while minimizing transport width. This system, when combined with our in-house fabrication capabilities, can reduce transport heights to within inches of the total load height.

In St. Charles Parish, LA, Deep South Crane & Rigging completed a huge vessel transport project in support of a major refinery upgrade. Key in the effort was to permit and transport five vessels from the Port of New Orleans to a St. Charles Refinery between July and December 2019.
Cantilever Beam Approach Helps Ease Exchangers Into Place

Deep South used a cantilever beam, which incorporates a compact counterweight design with customizable rigging attachment points, to move eight 118,000-pound exchangers into position under an existing steel structure at a refinery optimization project in the Southwest.
