The Capacity to Create
Our skilled staff can take an engineered approach to solving project challenges. Project solutions are created by a team of certified Professional Engineers and experienced craftsmen who partner to design, fabricate, and test virtually anything required for a project.
Building Our Own
Our capacity to design and fabricate is made possible in part by the in-house design and manufacturing of our own specialty crane line, VersaCrane™, with models ranging from 750 to 3,000 tons in capacity.
- Our fabrication facilities total nearly 100,000 square feet.
- The facilities are equipped with the tools needed such as a state-of-the-art robot welder, CNC tables, lathes, boring machines, radial drilling machines, cutting tables, saws, and multi-process welders.
- 24-hour crews are available.
- In addition to using our fabrication facilities to create custom project-specific solutions and VersaCranes™, we also use these facilities to create steel distribution systems, moment connection bridge ramps, temporary bridge systems, rigging, bolsters, and barge ramps, all of which will bring additional strength, efficiency, and safety to your project.
With these capabilities, we respond to client needs and provide faster service and quicker turnaround time, saving our clients time and money. When it comes to our business, we believe if it can be done, Deep South Crane & Rigging has the experience and the resources to do it best.

A High-pressure Exchange
Assembling the 1,500T VersaCrane™ TC-24000 off site and moving it via SPMT saved this client 15 days of downtime and allowed the refinery unit to run at full capacity until unit shutdown. During the scheduled outage, Deep South was tasked to replace two coke drums, each weighed 452,800 lbs and were 19’-2” outside diameter and 96’-0” long and were comparable in size and weight to the old drums.

Maneuvering in Tight Spaces
A seemingly routine lift and set of a pump house from the dock onto a barge came to a halt when a client’s crane failed—significantly impacting a task with a tight delivery window.
