Deep South Recognized for Excellence During Shell Turnaround

The Shell Norco Manufacturing Complex (NMC) recognized Deep South Crane and Rigging for its lifting support during the 2019 Who Dat Crackin’ Turnaround, one of the largest and most complex turnarounds in site history.
Deep South Crane and Rigging Ranked in Top 10 of the 2019 IC50

Deep South was recently ranked 9th in International Cranes and Specialized Transport’s IC 50 Index, which ranks the largest crane-owning companies worldwide. Companies are ranked by their IC Index, calculated as the total maximum load moment rating, in tonne-metres, of all cranes in a fleet. Deep South was previously ranked #13.
Deep South Crane Honored with 2019 SC&RA Safety Award and LWCC Safest 70

Deep South is honored to have recently received two safety awards. On April 27th at the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association’s (SC&RA) annual conference in Carlsbad, CA, Deep South received the 2019 Crane & Rigging Group Safety Award, and three Deep South crane operators received the Crane Operator Safety Award. LWCC also recognized Deep South in their Safest 70 award program.
Deep South Vice President Part of Historic Recognition Award from NCCCO to OSHA

Kerry Hulse, vice president of Deep South and current president of NCCO, recently presented a recognition award to OSHA for its foresight and initiative in officially recognizing CCO certification nearly two decades ago. The recent recognition was featured in an article by American Cranes & Transport magazine.
124-line SPMT Chemical Reactor Transport

In the Southwest, Deep South received three vessels from a heavy lift ship at the Port of Houston, barged the vessels, and transported them to final staging using a total of 124-axle lines Scheuerle SPMT. The heaviest vessel weighed 1,800,000 pounds and the total gross weight at transport for that vessel was 2,300,000 pounds.
