Deep South was contracted to provide turnkey services that included: transport, barging, and setting four towers. These four towers weighed in at 142,000 pounds, 316,000 pounds, 485,000 pounds, and 1,162,000 pounds.
The largest of the four towers was transported from the fabrication facility to the dock on 48 lines of Scheuerle SPMTs. Once it arrived at the site, a 1,760-ton Terex-Demag CC-8800-1 with 257’ of boom and 970 kips of super-lift counterweight was used to lift this tower into its final position. A 660-ton Terex-Demag CC-2800-1 served as the tail crane for this lift.
In the Southeast, Deep South performed a complex turnkey project that required equipment modification and careful planning.
In South America, Deep South demolished and removed three units within a petrochemical facility that was more than 50 years old.
Supplying all cranes in two units during a petrochemical turnaround in the Southeast, Deep South supported the change out of old components and reinstallation of new components with 19 cranes working throughout the project.
