Gulf Coast Turnkey Transport and Lift of Four Towers
Deep South was contracted to provide turnkey services that included: transport, barging, and setting four towers. These four towers weighed in at 142,000 pounds, 316,000 pounds, 485,000 pounds, and 1,162,000 pounds.
The largest of the four towers was transported from the fabrication facility to the dock on 48 lines of Scheuerle SPMTs. Once it arrived at the site, a 1,760-ton Terex-Demag CC-8800-1 with 257’ of boom and 970 kips of super-lift counterweight was used to lift this tower into its final position. A 660-ton Terex-Demag CC-2800-1 served as the tail crane for this lift.
