400,400 Pound Boiler Lifts
Three boilers were delivered horizontally to Deep South’s 500-ton hydraulic gantry system that was setup outside of the plant. The boilers were lifted and trans-loaded onto 12-line double-wide Scheuerle SPMTs and transported into the Southwest petrochemical refinery through a very congested unit.
Deep South then set them onto their foundations using two 500-ton Liebherr LTM 1400-7.1s and a 265-ton Liebherr LTM 1220-5.1. Each boiler weighed 400,400 pounds and was 52’ long, 13’ wide, and 26’ high.

For more than 50 years, Deep South Crane & Rigging has been distinguishing itself throughout North America. Founder Camile Landry has an intense appreciation for cranes, and he has always been intrigued by projects that require a higher level of skill and expertise. In the 1980s, he saw a need for a new generation of cranes. He envisioned a high-capacity crane with a smaller footprint and a tighter tail swing. He wanted to see a crane that could be transported easier than other heavy lift cranes.
