Rail-traveling ship loaders are a familiar sight on the Gulf Coast (and around the world)—and they are essential to the efficient loading of bulk materials. Disruption to the operation of these massive machines directly affects productivity and the bottom line, as represented by one company's experience when wind from a severe storm knocked the machine off its rails, leaving it dangerously close to the edge of the dock.

With nearly 50 years of experience in the heavy lift and heavy haul industry, Deep South can overcome even the most challenging obstacles.
At a refinery in the Midwest, extreme spatial constraints and underground utilities offered little room for error. Deep South met this challenge by executing an 800' jack and slide operation, which allowed the vessels to overcome extremely low ground bearing pressures, less than 2" clearances, and a downhill slope. DSCR Introduces New 1,000-ton VersaCrane CC-12000 Crawler

Deep South Crane & Rigging has added a VersaCrane CC-12000 to its fleet of lifting equipment, now numbering more than 200 pieces. The 1,000-ton VersaCrane CC-12000 retains all the prior innovations found in the original VersaCrane, with the addition of crawler tracks that allow the crane to change positions easily. It is ideal for projects with limited space for maneuvering equipment and with restrictions on ground-bearing pressure.
