200 Lifts at Michigan Power Plant
At a Michigan power plant, Deep South utilized a 660-ton Demag CC-2800 (pictured here) to complete 200 lifts over an 8 month duration. This included multiple bag-house modules and duct sections, weighing up to 85 tons and measuring up to 85 feet in length. In addition, the 160-ton Tadano GR-1600XL-2 was used in the early phase of the project for erecting steel. Extreme temperatures brought 100 inches of snow during this time.

Precarious Conditions on the Dock
Rail-traveling ship loaders are a familiar sight on the Gulf Coast (and around the world)—and they are essential to the efficient loading of bulk materials. Disruption to the operation of these massive machines directly affects productivity and the bottom line, as represented by one company's experience when wind from a severe storm knocked the machine off its rails, leaving it dangerously close to the edge of the dock.

Go Small to Gain Big: Transport Optimized for Efficient Transport
When an oil & gas customer needed help transporting a new oxygen tank from Texas to a gas facility in South Carolina, the options seemed costly and complex. Deep South’s logistics specialists took a custom approach to the transport of a 375,000-lb oxygen tank from road to rail to plant, saving time and money for the client.

Super-Sized Truss No Problem for High Capacity Crane
Deep South lifted and set double-rail bridge truss sections weighing 800,000 pounds each along a railroad line that crosses the Tug Fork River at Hatfield Bottom near Matewan, WV. Our crews engineered and fabricated custom lifting beams suitable for removing the existing truss bridges and lifting the new bridge spans into place and used our 1,760-ton capacity Terex-Demag CC-8800-1 crawler crane.
