ABOUT THE FACILITY
In 1983, after successfully operating in Louisiana for 15 years, Deep South chose this strategic location in the petrochemical corridor in Southwest Louisiana. This full-service crane and transport office contains a test bed facility for Deep South’s rigging components, an equipment refurbishment facility, and a fabrication facility giving the ability to build small components for custom jobs.

In the Southwest, Deep South received three vessels from a heavy lift ship at the Port of Houston, barged the vessels, and transported them to final staging using a total of 124-axle lines Scheuerle SPMT. The heaviest vessel weighed 1,800,000 pounds and the total gross weight at transport for that vessel was 2,300,000 pounds.

From a tricky bridge crossing to a complex coordinated lift, Deep South facilitated the delivery and setting of components for a petrochemical facility acid modification and upgrade project in Louisiana. The key components included a 627,000-pound acid settler, 689,000-pound first stage reactor, acid storage drums and associated parts.
