Southeast Petrochemical Turnaround
Supplying all cranes in two units during a petrochemical turnaround in the Southeast, Deep South supported the change out of old components and reinstallation of new components with 19 cranes working throughout the project. Among the cranes used were the 1800-ton VersaCrane TC-28000, 1,320-ton Terex AC-1000, and the 800-ton Demag AC-700.
Pictured here is the Depropanizer, weighing approximately 410,000 pounds and measuring 90’ long by 17.5’ in diameter, and the Acid Relief Neutralizer, weighing approximately 137,000 pounds and measuring 51’ long by 20’ in diameter. The 1800-ton VersaCrane was setup with 393’ of main boom at a 243’ radius. Cometto trailers were used to transport crane components during assembly and disassembly as well as hauling the two vessels pictured here.

Specialized Transport Solutions Keep Drum Delivery On Track
Chemical drums are massive storage systems, both in size and weight, that are used by manufacturers. Transporting them from fabrication to facility requires considerable planning and care. Consider the 151,338-pound chemical drum that was manufactured for a petrochemical company in Texas. The drum measured 36’11” x 18’2” x 20’8” and needed to be moved 50+ miles from North Houston to Baytown along major roads.
