Deep South Crane and Rigging, a leader in heavy lifting and transportation services, is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Counsel to join our team. As a trusted legal advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding the company’s risk management strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting business operations. A key focus of this role will be reviewing and negotiating client contracts company-wide, ensuring all agreements align with the company's strategic goals while minimizing risk and exposure.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Legal Support: Offer legal counsel and support across the organization on a wide range of matters. Collaborate with various departments, including Business Development, Estimating, Construction, Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Insurance, and Finance. Conduct research and resolve legal issues as they arise in a timely and efficient manner.
- Contract Management: Lead the evaluation, drafting, editing, and negotiation of industrial construction contracts. Ensure alignment with the company’s risk management framework and policies. Oversee the timely review, approval, and reconciliation of contract revisions.
- Maintain Contractual Documentation: Manage and maintain all contract-related records, including correspondence, spreadsheets, software, changes, status reports, and other project-related documents. Ensure accurate and organized documentation for all ongoing projects.
- Contract Guidance: Provide advice and guidance to project managers, accountants, and operational staff on contract matters as needed. Help ensure successful implementation and compliance with contractual terms.
- Contract Communication: Ensure signed contracts are effectively communicated to all relevant parties, ensuring visibility, awareness, and proper interpretation of contract terms to support smooth project execution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and an active bar membership in Louisiana, or eligibility for admission.
- A minimum of 7 years of legal experience, with expertise in contracts, corporate law, labor relations, and risk management.
- A proven track record in negotiating and managing complex contracts across various industrial sectors, with strong negotiation, consultative, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to think strategically, act practically, and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a legal department, providing guidance and direction in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail, with exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe PDF.
