At Deep South, the role of the IT Support Specialist is to troubleshoot and solve a wide variety of technical issues. This position will be an entry level position to receive on the job training to become the first line of defense for employee’s software and hardware problems. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the IT department and users experiencing computer, software, or hardware issues
• Assist the IT department with resolving tickets in our IT helpdesk system
• Manage and handle minor IT daily issues in a timely and efficient manner
• Provide step-by-step technical assistance to users via phone, email, or in person
• Escalate more complex issues to higher-level IT staff when necessary
• Document problems and solutions in the ticketing system to ensure consistent service
• Assist with basic setup and configuration of computers, printers, phones, and other devices
• Follow established IT policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• In the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or closely related
• Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and common desktop applications
• Familiarity with ticketing/helpdesk systems (preferred but not required; training provided)
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
