Deep South Crane & Rigging is seeking a CNC Plasma & Oxy-Fuel Table Operator to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC-controlled plasma and oxy-fuel cutting equipment to produce precision metal components. The ideal candidate has experience with both cutting methods, understands fabrication processes, and is committed to safety and quality.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting tables
• Select appropriate cutting process (plasma or oxy-fuel) based on material type, thickness, and job requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
• Load, align, and secure raw materials on the cutting table
• Adjust machine settings such as feed rate, gas flow, amperage, and torch height
• Monitor cutting operations to ensure accuracy, edge quality, and minimal waste
• Inspect finished parts for quality and adherence to specifications
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines
• Replace consumables (tips, nozzles, electrodes) as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of compressed gases and high-temperature equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proven experience operating CNC plasma and/or oxy-fuel cutting equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Working knowledge of metal types, thickness tolerances, and cutting techniques
• Basic computer skills; CNC programming experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Good communication and teamwork skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with CAD/CAM software
• Familiarity with nesting software and material optimization
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
• Forklift or overhead crane experience (if applicable)
