Blue Sea Modular Transport
In South Carolina, Deep South was contracted to transport and secure seven modules from the fabricator shop to a barge site via Scheuerle SPMTs. Using Deep South’s barge ramps, squat cans, squat beams, and over 250 chains, Deep South rolled onto the barge safely and efficiently secured the modules for their blue sea voyage.
Pictured here is the longest module that weighed 640,000 pounds and was 190’ long x 24’ wide. The trailer configuration utilized was a 24-line double-wide Scheuerle SPMT, with spacer decks incorporated to support the integrity of the module.

Assembling the 1,500T VersaCrane™ TC-24000 off site and moving it via SPMT saved this client 15 days of downtime and allowed the refinery unit to run at full capacity until unit shutdown. During the scheduled outage, Deep South was tasked to replace two coke drums, each weighed 452,800 lbs and were 19’-2” outside diameter and 96’-0” long and were comparable in size and weight to the old drums.
