Opened in 1968, this office serves as Deep South’s corporate office and is home to the all-powerful VersaCrane fleet and manufacturing facility. Our skilled employees, coupled with our state-of-the-art fabrication facilities, allow us to custom design, fabricate and test virtually anything required for a project right at home. All VersaCrane components are engineered and fabricated at our Baton Rouge facility by a team of certified engineers and experienced craftsmen.
From Woman’s Hospital: Turn left to head South on Airline Highway (US-61). Proceed down Airline for 2.8 miles. The office will be on your right after crossing Highland Road.
From Prairieville (at Highway 42): Proceed North on Airline Highway (US-61). Proceed down Airline for approximately 3 miles. Deep South will be on your left just past the State Fair Grounds.
A major process unit turnaround (TAR) project for a petrochemical plant in the Southwest required some well-planned logistics, over 1,200 craftworkers (at peak) and a comprehensive fleet of cranes, trucks and customized skid (Jack & Slide) systems.
Deep South hoisted and set the four sections of the coker derrick structure, the heaviest of which weighed 256 tons, and two 450-ton coke drums at a Midwest Refinery using our 2,500-ton VersaCrane TC-36000 and our 275-ton Demag CC-1400.
Deep South set the first of 12 components ranging from 85,000 pounds to 110,000 pounds using the 1,400-ton Demag CC-6800 at a mining facility in Michigan.
